So, our trip to the San Franciso Zoo was a lot of fun. Although, Anthony will pretty much have fun anywhere! He just loves to be outside, running around and exploring everything. We picked up a little baby pool for the backyard and he spends most afternoons in it. He just loves playing in and with water! We went to a car show in downtown Danville. Anthony got to sit in a jet and a helicopter. Daddy got to show off his skills and took 1st place in a pull-ups competition hosted by the Marine Corp. Daddy comes home from work most nights exhausted and falls asleep on the couch. Anthony shows no mercy and climbs all over him, taps him on the face, stacks things on his head and yells, "Dada" in his ear. Somehow, Daddy sleeps through it all! All I can do is show him pictures to prove these things are happening! (Note: there are 2 new links of pictures; May #2 and June #1)

Pee Pee in the Potty!
Anthony never ceases to amaze us and today was no exception! For the past few weeks, we've just been putting Anthony on the potty before putting him into his bath. He's never tried to pee pee while sitting there. But, he doesn't mind sitting there on his "Cars" potty seat while we cheer him on. But, today, out of nowhere, Anthony pulled Daddy to the bathroom, pulled out his potty seat and put it on the potty. With Daddy's assist, he got on the potty and went pee pee!! All on his own! We can't believe it!

May - new puppy
So, of course the big news is getting a new puppy for Anthony. He just loves having a dog in the house. They are going to be best buddies for sure! Not only does he love having a dog, but he also loves having a dog crate! He plays in it, on it, drags it around the house and outside in the backyard. It's been a challenge taking Anthony in the backyard lately; he always wants to play with the water hose. And he doesn't care if it's cold outside or if we are wasting water! It sure is hard to tell that little face "no" sometimes! He is adding more words to his vocabulary all the time and is working on his spoon and fork skills. Anthony will hug just about anything now: pots, bagels, cookies, you name it, he will hug it! And he doesn't just hug things, he puts them up to his shoulder and pats them like you would a baby; it's very sweet! The other day we went into the bathroom to get his bath ready and he gave the tub a hug!

April 2010
Easter was a blast! Aunt Michelle had us over for an amazing brunch and an egg hunt for Anthony. He just loved finding all the eggs and putting them in his basket! Thanks for the activity table, Aunt Michelle; you know he loves it! After a much needed nap, he opened his Easter Baskets; loved the little chocolate lab from Gramma and Grandpa! He made good use of the Easter baskets the next day by stacking them on Daddy's head while Daddy tried to catch a nap on the couch; no napping on Anthony's watch! Thanks to GG for the adorable "Cars" pj's! He should be able to wear them by this Summer! Thanks Jon & Abbey for the box of Easter goodies! The dinosaur flashlight is too cute and the blanket is great! ................ Anthony had a "well check" with his Pediatrician on the 21st. According to the Doctor, he's doing great! He weighed in at 31.8lbs and measured 2'10" tall. He's adding new words to his vocabulary all the time. In the last few weeks, he finally started calling me "mama"! YES!!! (although "dada" is still his favorite word!) He enjoys being Daddy's personal trainer and making him do push-ups all day long while riding on his back. He absolutely loves anything water: loves to drink it, take a bath, squirt guns (thanks Grandma!) play with the hose, play with his new water table. When he discovers a new toy, kitchen utensil or cup that for some reason strikes his fancy, he'll ask for a bath because that's where he wants to play with it. And much to my displeasure, him and Daddy enjoy playing with spiders! Ugh!

February - March
We are all settled into our new house. It's so nice to give Anthony room to play inside and out! He wants to be outside constantly; rain or shine! We take Anthony on walks/jogs almost daily. He enjoys stopping to feed the ducks and seeing all the dogs pass us on the trail. Inside the house, he loves to open and close all the doors to every room and especially loves to play in his bedroom closet. He's also discovered that he can take off the vent covers from the floors and throw things in the vents! =O He loves to dance and "sing" to all kinds of music and enjoys listening to the "Cars" soundtrack on my iPhone. But, his favorite thing in all the world is still his Daddy! He is SO happy to see Daddy come through the door and will even call out for him when he's in another room. (Mommy, who?) Anthony is a tough little guy; falls and bumps don't seem to phase him one bit. But, that tough little guy is also the sweetest, most affectionate little boy ever! He is full of hugs and kisses! My favorite ones come when he's off playing nicely by himself and then just runs over for a hug and then goes back to what he was doing. And it's so sweet when he's in his highchair and reaches his arm out to invite you in for a hug; when you lean in, he just wraps one arm around you and pats you on the back! ♥

January - February 3
OK, so it's been awhile since my last post... We've finally moved Anthony from the little baby bathtub on the counter to the big tub; and he loves it! If you ask him if he wants to take a bath, he will climb right up the stairs to the bathroom! He has recently discoverd how fun it is to stand up and pee pee in the tub. And he will even go pee pee when you ask him to do it! Hopefully, this will carry over to potty training!
Anthony LOVES the movie, "Cars". We can't even begin to count how many times we've watched it. Luckily, it's a great movie and we enjoy it too. If you ask him if he wants to watch "Cars", he'll make a "vrmmm" noise. We can't seem to keep him away from the garbage can these days. He loves to open it and drop things in. I've found a few surprises in the can when I go to throw something away. Hopefully, he hasn't or wont throw away anything that we need! He has also learned that if he stands in the 2nd kitchen drawer, he can reach the counter tops! UGH!
We pretty much kept Anthony quarantined this past weekend. He had a little croup and the Doctor advised that it was because he was fending off a virus of some sort. So, other than a few walks outside in the cold, brisk air to help open up the airway, we were pretty much homebound all weekend! Not even a trip to Costco! =( Thankfully, Grandma made a run to the grocery store for us and also brought Anthony a new Teddy Bear to make him feel better. He loves the bear and enjoys cuddling with it; thanks Grandma!

Christmas Time!
Christmas was SO much fun! Anthony had a blast unwrapping his presents (and ours too!). Daddy didn't want to miss a moment of the day, so he opted to forego sleeping before his shift. That allowed us to spend the entire day together! Grandma, Auntie, Aaron & Kevin stopped by to bring Anthony some presents; thanks guys! We had another awesome dinner at Aunt Michelle's on Christmas Eve. Thanks for having us over, Aunt Michelle! I don't know how Anthony stayed awake on the ride home, he was wiped out! He had some milk, a little cuddle time and then off to bed! That boy is such a trooper! Thank you to GG, Gramma, Grandpa, Uncle Chris, Uncle Jon & Aunt Abbey for all the wonderful gifts you sent! We miss you guys and wish we could have spent Christmas with you!
Aside from the Christmas-hoorah, Anthony is trying so hard to gain his indepence... he wants to do everything himself! He doesn't want a handful of Cheerios, has has to hold the bag and feed himself. He takes the napkin from me and wipes his own mouth. He takes the toothbrush from me and brushes his own teeth, etc. I mean, really? Already? 16 months old and he doesn't need us anymore? lol
