Non-Stress Test - August 29th

1 week past our due date and counting!
Everything went great at the non-stress test. The baby is doing great in there and surrounded by plenty of fluid. We have another test scheduled for Tuesday morning and then again on Friday.

41 week check-up

4 days past our due date and coutning!
Technically, we aren't 41 weeks until tomorrow. But, we had our Doctor's appointment today. Everything is still looking good. I'm dialated to 1 centimeter. I had a very uncomfortable exam and the midwife did a little poking around and stretching in there in hopes of getting things moving. Tomorrow, we go back in for a non-stress test for the baby.

40 week check-up

We had our 40 week check-up today. The baby is doing fine and everything is looking good. His head is right in position and very low. Our next appointment is scheduled for next Thursday; they will also do a non-stress test at that time. And just in case we haven't delivered by then, they've scheduled our induction date for September 6th. Hopefully, we wont have to wait that long!

39 week check-up

We had a check-up today at the Doctor's office... everything is checking out good and healthy! My belly is measuring on the large side of the scale and the Doctor expects we've got quite the little Bruiser in there!
I was surprised they didn't do an internal exam. But, they say they don't start doing that until 40 weeks. They've scheduled our next appointment for next Friday, the 22nd. They advised me to drink lots of water and try to go for walks to get things moving.

Baby Shower - July 31

A big "THANK YOU" to Michelle, Renee & Chris for throwing us a really nice baby shower!

Michelle & Renee, you guys went above & beyond on this one! Everything was so, so nice: the food, the cake, the center pieces, the favors, etc. Thank you SO much!!

Chris, we are sorry you had to miss the shower. We love the Cubs outfit! Thank you!!


Mom, Thank you so much for everything! I think we bored everyone making them watch us open all the gifts from Grandma! But, we do really appreciate it and can't wait for you to put all this baby gear to use when you babysit! =)~

Gram, Mom, Dad & Aunt Julie - We are sorry that you couldn't be here! We know Chicago and Wisconsin are a bit far to travel for a baby shower. But, we do appreciate all the gifts that you sent ahead of time! Thank you!! And we are looking forward to your upcoming visits!

And thank you to everyone that came to the shower! It meant a lot to us to have our friends and family help us celebrate this special time!

Today is my last day at work!

Woo hoo! I'm officially on maternity leave!

Baby Shower @ work

My friends at work threw me a baby shower today! They brought in Chinese food, cake, games and lots of gifts! We had a lot of fun and it was really nice to see how excited everyone is for us to welcome our new baby. THANK YOU NIKKI FOR ORGANIZING SUCH A NICE SHOWER FOR ME!!!



Nikki made this "cake" of diapers and baby stuff. It was SO cute! The pictures don't even do it justice. It was decorated with a receiving blanket, pacifiers, bath wash, bath toys, wash clothes, bib, cotton balls, swabs, etc.. and the cake topper is a cute, soft little puppy.


Dreann made this awesome edible fruit bouquet! Not only was it pretty, but is was yummy too! Of course my favorites were the chocolate covered strawberries!


Cute puppy sweatsuit with matching onesie and socks. I LOVE the little dog ears on the hood. And I think the dog looks a little like Flex! =)

We received a lot of nice gifts at the shower. Clothes, blankets, towels, bath tub station, pacifiers, toys, thermometer, boppy pillow, etc... Obviously, I can't post pictures of everything. But, we really appreciate everything and are very grateful to have such thoughtful and generous friends! Thanks to everyone at the shower today (and those that couldn't make it and still sent gifts!)
