Week 32

Anthony is a master crawler now! It's amazing how fast they can move once they learn how. He really maneuvers well in the walker now too. But, he seems to love to maeuver right into the back of my heels!
Anthony loved his first time in the baby pool!

Week 31 / He's Crawling! / Easter

Yes, Anthony started crawling on Saturday! It's so funny to see him moving across the floor and getting to things & places he had been admiring from afar. He also sat up on his own for the first time on Thursday night. However, he hasn't done it again since then. On Friday, we gave him his first finger foods; little Gerber cereal snacks for babies. He's working hard to develop that pincer grasp! He is really enjoying the solid foods. It's getting harder and harder to get him to finish a bottle now; he just wants the solids! We colored Easter eggs on Saturday night before Daddy went to work. He had a good time playing with the eggs and trying to get them into his mouth. We celebrated Easter on Sunday morning before Daddy had to scoot off to bed. Anthony crawled to his first Easter basket and tipped the contents right on top of his head! He wore himself out playing with his new books and toys! (Thanks Gramma, Grandpa & Aunt Julie!) And Anthony's new "thing" is shaking his head "no" at everything you say to him; too funny!

7 months

Our little boy is 7 months old today! Our biggest joy for the week is that Anthony has started sleeping 12 hours straight through the night! Woo Hoo! Well, last night wasn't so great... but, for the week prior, he's been sleeping 7pm to 7am! He's really enjoying his solid foods now; he's opening his mouth for it before we even get the spoon near him. He's on the verge of crawling & sitting up; should be any day now! We went to watch Aaron play baseball on Saturday. On Sunday, Grandma came over for a visit and we took Anthony to the park to ride the swing......... (The video below was taken in the hospital on the night Anthony was born. Daddy just recently found the video camera . So, I hadn't seen this video until just a couple of days ago.)

Week 29

Anthony is really enjoying his voice; he's very chatty and "screaming" a lot now. We went to Chuck E. Cheese during the week for his friend Alison's 1st birthday party. He really seemed to enjoy all the sights and sounds and all the kids running around. We are going to have to go back there and remember to bring the camera next time! We were only able to take a couple of pictures with Daddy's phone. We also went to Super Franks this week. (another play place like Chuck E Cheese) for a little play date with his new friend, Miles. Anthony was a little overwhelmed at first. There's so much going on there he just didn't know what to look at first. But, once he took it all in, he was ready to play!

Week 28

We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary by taking Anthony to Bridges Restaurant in Danville (where we got engaged). He did really well at dinner and enjoys sitting up at the table like a big boy. On Saturday morning, we watched his cousin Aaron's baseball game. Anthony seemed to enjoy the cheering crowds and all the kids running around. He's getting very talkative (putting more "words" together). And to Daddy's delight, two of those words are, "DA DA"! Anthony still enjoys the fake coughing and has discovered how fun it is to scream! Oh, and he has 2 teeth coming in!

Week 27

Anthony is on the verge of crawling He's getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. Once he gets it figured out, there's no stopping him! His little tooth is creeping up a little more. He is just chewing on everything; it's like having a puppy! lol He has really taken a liking to my laptop and loves to pound on the keyboard. He is still enjoying the fake coughing and will initiate the game on his own; it's very cute! My favorite complaint is still how hard it is to change his diaper & clothes! I used to be able to hold both his feet with one hand to pick up his rear and slide the diaper under him. Now he just kicks out of my grip and then tries to wrap his legs around my arms! The little monkey!

6 months old

Anthony had his "well check" yesterday. Our healthy boy weighed in at 20 lbs and measured 27" long. We started feeding him solid food this week. His first food was Butternut Squash and a few days later he got a taste of Peas. We also introduced him to his first sippy cup. He always wants our water bottles when we drink them and we've been letting him sip a little water from the cap. So, we figured it was time for his own cup. Another big first this week: we can see and feel a tooth getting ready to break through! He's not showing much discomfort. But, he is gnawing on anything he can get in his mouth. Our silly boy has started fake coughing and thinks it's hilarious. Now more than ever, I would love to hog-tie him while changing his diaper! If you can get him to stop kicking his legs for even a second, then the challenge is to stop him from flipping over! Although, he is becoming more helpful when dressing; he pulls his arms out of the sleeves or helps push them through and he grabs his shirts and tries to pull them off over his head. We went to Costco (as usual) and Anthony sat up in the cart for the first time. And we are just loving his new little "W" hat from Uncle Jon & Aunt Abbey; surprisingly he didn't touch it or try to take it off.

Week 25

3/3/09 - Oops! I just replaced the video below; I just realized that I posted the wrong one!

Anthony is sitting much better on his own now. He hasn't made it to the sit position unassisted yet. But, I'm sure it wont be too long before that happens. It's been a rough few days for us at home... we've decided to stop putting/rocking Anthony to sleep and let him learn to put himself to sleep. Sadly, that means letting him cry!
But, we are seeing some good results now and it seems to be helping us start moving him toward a schedule. Last night was our best night yet... He went down for bed at 7:10 and made it through to 5:10 without waking up once during the night! He usually wakes at some point for his pacifier and then again at some point for a feeding. Hopefully, this is the start of a new routine. Of course, we'd love to get him sleeping in a little later; but, we'll work on that!
