Week 25

3/3/09 - Oops! I just replaced the video below; I just realized that I posted the wrong one!

Anthony is sitting much better on his own now. He hasn't made it to the sit position unassisted yet. But, I'm sure it wont be too long before that happens. It's been a rough few days for us at home... we've decided to stop putting/rocking Anthony to sleep and let him learn to put himself to sleep. Sadly, that means letting him cry!
But, we are seeing some good results now and it seems to be helping us start moving him toward a schedule. Last night was our best night yet... He went down for bed at 7:10 and made it through to 5:10 without waking up once during the night! He usually wakes at some point for his pacifier and then again at some point for a feeding. Hopefully, this is the start of a new routine. Of course, we'd love to get him sleeping in a little later; but, we'll work on that!

Week 24

Another week with our cutie-pie has passed. My biggest thrill for the week is that Anthony has started saying, "mom and ma ma". I know he doesn't know what he's saying yet. But, it sure is sweet to hear those words! And I knew this time was coming, but it looks like we are going to have to stop swaddling him at night. He sleeps so much better when he's swaddled tight. (We use the "cheater" swaddle that has velcro and he can't bust out). But, now he's started flipping himself over in the swaddle. So, now that he's flipping over, we are going to have to give him use of his arms and stop swaddling. This change could mean less sleep for mommy & daddy at night... or it could be a blessing in disguise; now that he'll have use of his arms, he'll be able to put his pacifier back in his mouth himself. Tonight will be the first night we'll put him to bed without being swaddled.. wish us luck! lol

Trip to the Aquarium Store

Monday, we took Anthony to a big aquarium store near our house. He really enjoyed looking at all the fish and we really enjoyed watching him see everything for the first time!

Week 23

Here's our little Valentine in week 23. He spent the whole day with Aunt Michelle on Thursday since Daddy had another training day. I hear that Anthony really enjoyed his visit with Riley! I'd love to catch it on video... But, apparently, Riley had Anthony cracking up! Aunt Julie sent Anthony the cutest "touchy feely" book about puppies; and he is really enjoying it! Anthony loves to ride, facing out, in the Baby Bjorn (baby sling).. I've taken him shopping in it a few times and he has the best time it! On two different occassions, people have come up to me while wearing it and said, "wow, he really looks like he enjoys that!" Anthony is VERY interested in everything that we eat and drink; he seems particularly interested in Daddy's protein shakes! And Daddy has taught him to do push-ups; it's the cutest thing! Daddy will do one, then Anthony will imitate it.

Week 22

Anthony just gets more and more fun and more personality everyday; he makes us laugh constantly! It's amazing that we think we can't possibly love him any more than we do. And yet, everyday we fall deeper and deeper in love with him!

Feedings have become a struggle now... Anthony just doesn't want to take the time out of his busy day to be bothered with tedious things like eating, being changed and sleeping! He just doesn't want to miss a moment! Changing him continues to be a battle.. and what makes it worse for me is the fact that a lot of times, when I change Anthony, Daddy comes creeping into the room behind him. So, now Anthony is contantly trying to look over his shoulder at the door while being changed, which makes him flip over! And Daddy thinks it's hilarious that he can help Anthony give me such a hard time!

Week 21

Anthony had his first taste of rice cereal this week. It didn't take him long to catch on that's for sure! He is just getting more and more talkative and active every day. He is trying hard to crawl. But, he just scoots himself backward instead of forwards. It's certainly a challenge to change his diaper and clothes now! He just will not sit still; rolling and kicking and grabbing at everything; wrapping his monkey feet around my arms so I can't do anythng. I feel like I'm going into battle every time I have to change him! =)~ Thanks to Aunt Michelle for watching Anthony twice this week while daddy slept and went to training. I hope you guys enjoyed your walk!

Week 19 - 1st ride on a swing

The weather has been so nice this past week. Daddy took Anthony for a walk in the park while I was at work. Of course, I was so jealous that I couldn't be out there enjoying the day with them. But, I did get the chance to take Anthony to the park on my day off. We went with our friend Cindy and her two little girls, Hannah & Ali.
Anthony loved the swing and enjoyed watching Hannah & Ali in action!

Week 18

OK, he was 18 weeks old on 1/11... I'm finally caught up! Anthony had his 4 month "well check" with the doctor. He weighed in at 18.7 lbs and was 25.6" long. His doctor called him a "Chunky Monkey"! =) He did check out healthy though; which is great to hear. He had to have some more vaccinations. But, luckily Daddy was with us at the appointment and kept him distracted during and after the shots. So, this round wasn't as bad as the first ones at 2 months.

Week 17

Yes, I am behind on posting! I hope to have week 18 posted tomorrow.
Anthony is growing and changing so fast! He is getting more coordinated when he reaches for things and he'll reach for anything around him. He is getting very close to being able to sit up unassisted. He sits a little on his own now but he'll teeter over. If you hold his hands, he will stand up and try to take some steps. He smiles and laughs a lot; especially for his Daddy!
